Hi, I’m Bobby 👋
I’m a software engineer who enjoys building products from ideas to working software.
My background is primarily in frontend development, but over time I’ve become increasingly interested in the entire process of creating a product — from understanding a problem and designing the experience to building the backend, deploying the application, and getting it into the hands of real users.
Recently, I’ve been especially interested in AI-native products and how AI can change the way we design, build, and use software.
What I’m Building
I’m currently experimenting with several independent projects.
Matchify
An AI-powered resume tool that helps people turn a job description into a tailored resume.
The idea is simple: AI should create a strong first draft, while the user remains in control of the final result.
Chestnut Studio
Chestnut Studio is my small independent studio for exploring and building software products.
Rather than starting with a big company or an ambitious roadmap, my goal is simple:
Build useful things, find real users, and learn from what happens.
What I Work With
I mostly work with TypeScript and the modern web ecosystem, including:
- React / Next.js
- React Native / Expo
- Vue / Nuxt.js
- Hono
- Cloudflare Workers
- D1 / Drizzle
- pnpm / Monorepos
- AI models and agent-based development workflows
I’m less interested in technology for its own sake than in what it allows me to build.
What I’m Exploring
Right now, I’m particularly interested in:
- AI-native product design
- AI agents and developer tools
- Human–AI collaboration
- Product design and UX
- Indie hacking and small software businesses
- Building products end to end
I also enjoy going back to fundamentals and understanding how things work under the hood — whether that’s building a tiny version of React, learning more about computer science, or experimenting with a technology I’ve never used before.
A Little Philosophy
I like small experiments.
- Build something.
- Use it yourself.
- Put it in front of people.
- See what happens.
- Then make it better.
I’m still learning, building, and figuring things out — and this website is where I document that journey.
